  1. This one really grew on me. It lit off with a spicy bang and then went really really neutral for about the first third of the first third. It started to build after that, initially with a light salty note that was almost soy-like, then it started to reveal the subtle yet complex quality characteristic of the brand, all the while holding onto and developing that first odd note into a flavorful counter-note to the classic sweetness. By the final third, sweeter notes of pine and leather finally conquer over the saltiness and the whole thing ends with strong coffee, cocoa, and spice. The nicotine level was right on my threshold without pushing past it, though I would not recommend enjoying one of these on an empty stomach. This is one to sit back and enjoy, your patience will be rewarded.

One quick note, the burn line went seriously sideways for the first 15 minutes, then corrected itself without a touch up. This is a cigar that requires a little bit of faith of the smoker.
